The ARK DIST SR is a low-SWaP distance sensor module built in the USA and fully NDAA compliant, designed for professional UAV platforms. It integrates the Broadcom AFBR-S50LV85D Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor, offering a typical measurement range of up to 30 meters. Featuring an integrated 850nm laser source with a 2° x 2° transmitter beam, the system supports health monitoring via a dedicated reference pixel and delivers reliable performance under ambient light conditions up to 200k lux.
This compact rangefinder supports DroneCAN and MAVLink communication protocols and includes UAVCAN firmware update capability and ROS2 support. The field-of-view is 12.4° x 6.2° across 32 pixels. Connectivity is provided via two Pixhawk Standard CAN connectors (4-pin JST GH), a Pixhawk Standard UART connector (6-pin JST GH), and a Pixhawk Standard Debug connector (6-pin JST SH).
Power requirements are 5V with 84mA average current draw (86mA max). The module measures 2.8 x 2 x 1.4 cm and weighs 4 g. Included accessories are a 4-pin Pixhawk Standard CAN cable and a 6-pin Pixhawk Standard UART cable.
