All drone test stands include the Flight Stand Software, which controls the thrust stand, provides real-time data logging up to 1,000 Hz, and supports automated testing capabilities.

Users can manually control tests with a throttle slider or also automate them with tables, .CSV files, or the Python API, while viewing live data, filtering noise, resampling, and exporting results.

Flight Stand Software

The software also supports flight replay from uploaded .CSV files, propeller balancing, external analog sensor inputs, and DEP testing with up to eight powertrains simultaneously.

Additionally, the latest Input Transformation feature enables users to connect third-party analog sensors to Flight Stand products, seamlessly integrating sensor data with propulsion readings.

Series 1585 Drone Test Stand

Professional propulsion testing for small- & medium-sized drones

quadcopter test standThe Series 1585 is a professional test stand that allows you to measure and characterize anything you need to know about your drone’s propulsion system, including thrust, torque, voltage, current, motor rotation speed, vibration, and efficiency.

With enhanced dynamic response, greater power capacity, and increased electrical noise immunity, it allows you to optimize flight time, payload and reliability for quadcopter, multirotor and fixed-wing drone designs.

The turnkey solution provides everything you need to begin testing right out of the box. It includes a built-in precision ohmmeter for motor winding resistance measurement, and features expansion ports for additional sensors such as temperature, airspeed and optical RPM probes. The included motor mounting plate allows you to test any small- to medium-sized brushless motors.

Flight Stand 15

Thrust & torque testing for small- to medium-sized UAVs

dual motor flight stand 15The Flight Stand 15 is a professional test stand for propulsion systems of small and medium-sized drones, allowing you to measure up to 15 kgf of thrust and 8 Nm of torque, as well as a variety of other parameters including RPM, current, voltage, temperature, propeller efficiency and motor efficiency.

In addition to single motors, the stand allows realistic testing of dual-motor powertrains in back-to-back, face-to-face, or offset configurations. Flight controller data can be uploaded to the test software, allowing you to recreate throttle input in real time.

The Flight Stand 15 is available in Standard or Pro versions. The Flight Stand 15 Pro provides dynamic testing over a wider range of values with higher accuracy, rigorously calibrated to ASTM standards to ensure maximum measurement precision.

Users can precisely characterize and evaluate the performance of UAV motors and propellers, measuring up to 150 kgf of thrust and 150 Nm of torque.

The professional test stand allows real-time dynamic testing with high accuracy and a 1 kHz sampling rate, rigorously calibrated to ASTM standards in order to ensure maximum measurement precision.

UAV thrust stand for very large motorsThe Flight Stand 500 is a comprehensive test platform for testing the large brushless motors and propellers of heavy-lift eVTOL drones and UAM (urban air mobility) platforms. With a frictionless measurement system for high-accuracy results, it can sample at up to 1 kHz, enabling real-time dynamic testing and precise performance analysis.

The complete package includes a force measurement unit (FMU), an electric measurement unit (EMU), a robust tubular structure, a sync hub to synchronize measurements, a fiber optic RPM probe, and several temperature probes. The included Flight Stand software provides intuitive operation and visualization of test plans and data.

Flight Stand 60

Engine testing for UAVs with internal combustion engines

Flight Stand 60The Flight Stand 60 Engine Test Stand provides precise characterization of UAV internal combustion engines, measuring up to 60 kgf of thrust and 30 Nm of torque, along with RPM, fuel flow, temperature, airspeed, vibration, and system efficiency.

With a 1,000 Hz sampling rate, the stand enables detailed dynamic analysis of harmonics, torque ripple, and vibration. Flight controller data can be uploaded to the Flight Replay software, allowing throttle patterns to be recreated for accurate endurance and fuel consumption estimates.

The stand includes ASTM-calibrated load cells, three sets of vibration dampers tailored to different engine sizes, and wireless software control for safe remote operation. The Flight Stand 60 is delivered with a full training course, ensuring reliable setup and testing precision.

Propeller Balancing

Dynamic balancing for drone motors & propellers

Propeller BalancingOur Propeller Balancing software feature allows ISO 21940-11 quality balancing of motors and propellers using any Tyto Robotics Flight Stand. Vibration is measured through the Flight Stand’s built-in accelerometer and RPM probe, precisely characterizing imbalance and guiding correction weight placement.

Balancing is completed in just three spins: one to record baseline vibration, one with a trial weight to calibrate the algorithm, and a final spin with the correction weight to confirm balance. Users can select the default ISO grade of 6.3G or set their own requirement.

The Propeller Balancing feature requires the purchase of a balancing license, available separately from the standard Flight Stand software package.

Our new cutting-edge distributed electric propulsion test stand enables drone developers and engineers to connect up to eight motors and propellers simultaneously, quadrupling the capacity of previous solutions. Users can test a wide variety of critical parameters, including vibration, ESC responsiveness, characterization of components, and more.

Distributed Electric Propulsion Testing

With our proprietary Flight Stand software, users can control and record data for up to eight stands from a single computer. Any possible configurations can be tested, including quadcopter, hexacopter and octocopter arrangements as well as coaxial designs.

The test solution is available in three different ratings – 15 kgf, 50 kgf and 150 kgf.

Our Windshapers are modular, scalable open air wind generators that are fully customizable to meet your testing needs. Based on blocks of nine fans measuring 10 by 10 inches, Windshapers allow you to easily perform free flight tests in your own lab.

Tyto Closed Wind Tunnel Testing

The included software allows you to control each fan individually, simulating conditions found in the real world. Additional test capabilities can be added including weather effects, a motion capture system, or tilting mechanisms. Users have the option to add accessories and build a closed wind tunnel, in addition to the open tunnel setup.

WindProbe 3D

WindProbe 3DThe WindProbe 3D system characterizes airflow by combining the Windshaper, WindProbe, and camera tracking to measure wind speed and direction in real time.

Powered by WindVision software, it provides 3D flow visualization, data export to CSV and VTK, and accurate measurements across a 2–20 m/s velocity range.
