Compact Micro-Linear Actuators for Precise UAV Motion Control

MightyZap linear actuators, manufactured by IR Robot in South Korea, are compact micro-linear servos widely used in UAV applications where precise, lightweight motion control is required. Designed for small-scale aerospace systems, they provide accurate actuation for control surfaces, payload mechanisms, and other onboard functions where space and weight constraints are critical.
These “smart” servos integrate the motor, gearbox, and control circuitry into a single compact housing, simplifying system design and integration. They feature absolute position sensors with 4096-step resolution, enabling sub-millimeter accuracy of approximately 30–50 μm.
Supporting multiple communication interfaces, including PWM, Half-Duplex TTL, and RS-485 (Modbus RTU), they allow for flexible control and daisy-chaining. Premium models incorporate coreless DC motors for faster response and extended lifespan, while the overall form factor, typically 40–100 g, offers a significantly lighter alternative to hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
