This video takes a closer look at Rotron Aerospace’s RT700-XE, a compact rotary engine developed to deliver ultra-high performance in a lightweight package.
The liquid-cooled Wankel rotary engine is the result of a five-year engineering development programme, setting a new benchmark for power density in normally aspirated internal combustion engines.
Delivering 220hp peak power and up to 319hp per litre, the RT700-XE provides highly linear power output alongside a wide torque spread. Its compact form factor and strong power-to-weight ratio are complemented by a programmable fuel injection system, which can be controlled via a CANbus interface to support integration into advanced propulsion systems.
